Supplement a Change

Posted on March 4, 2010 by admin There have been 1 comment(s)

As you grow stronger and your body starts to form the kind of shape you have been looking for, your muscles and your bones will become accustomed to the workouts you've been doing.

Whether that workout is based more on athletics rather than body building, or you have or have not been using supplements, this is irrelevant. Your body and your muscles have a memory and they get used to routines.

Even the best programmes; slimming programmes, bulking up programmes, power focussed programmes - you name it - will become too easy after a period of time.

This occurs because the distance that you run and the exercises that you do become familiar, and do not provide enough extra or value added resistance for your body to grow. Instead, your body is accustomed to this regime and no longer views it an exercise.

The key to diverting your development from this levelling off is to increase the resistance or the load in some way.

Many people work extremely hard to keep their body in optimum condition by using all of the necessary supplements, eventually finding that they no longer need them because the supplements allowed them to find a new-found natural strength. However, it may be time for you to step up your game.

In the gym for example, you might change your grip to a reverse grip, or bring your palms nearer to the middle of a bench press bar. You could try twisting the dumbbell when completing a curl, for example. Subtle alterations will keep the muscles growing.

At Pro Nutrition we have a wealth of sports supplements, whey protein powder and other supplements to help you get the best out of your training programme.
