Don't Confuse Supplements with Anabolic Steroids

When you hear the term sports supplements you may falsely confuse it with anabolic steroids.

It is important that you are aware of the difference between the two types of product.

Sports supplements are simply ways of boosting your body's ability to lose fat and boost lean muscle. They are natural and often come in the form of whey protein powder.

This does not have a drastic impact on your overall health, but is rather a way of helping your muscles to repair themselves more quickly than usual so you are not hindered in your efforts to get fit.

Also, whey protein powder is taken to make achieving the right nutritional balance easier for those engaging in physical activity.

After all, it can be hard to consume the recommended amount of lean protein through regular meals.

This is particularly true if you either do not like or do not have time to prepare products such as chicken and fish.

In contrast, anabolic steroids have a much more profound effect on the physiology of those who take them.

First synthesised in the 1930s, they are designed to mimic the effects of sex hormones and, as such, they increase protein synthesis within cells.

In addition, the steroids lead to the development and maintenance of masculine characteristics, such as the growth of body hair and vocal cords.

As you can see, they are very different from sports supplements. So don't be put off by a false association between the products and anabolic steroids.
