Firstly, equipment – good equipment – is essential to keeping your interest and your body protected from the rigours of a focused training programme. Weight training belts are a must, plus a decent pair of weight training gloves will keep your hands from getting sore and help you to train better as a result. You need to diet well and be focused on what you’re doing. Get advice from the gym manager or a personal trainer on how to write a programme to suit you. You might need a totally different set schedule than someone who’s been training for a longer period, for instance.
